Trevion Corporate Park is a few minutes away by car from the Department of Energy (DOE). Enjoy this quick video, speed drive, illustrating just how close it is. A company can be a tenant or an owner of an office condo at Trevion. This is highly desirable by government contractors to the DOE.
The Department of Energy was relocated from Nineteenth and Constitution to Germantown, Maryland under it then current name, U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, in 1955. It resides on an 109 acre site located at the interchange of Germantown Road (Rt. 118) and I-270. This land was purchased by the Federal Government from William O. Dosh of Gaithersburg in 1955 when the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission selected it under President Eisenhower for its new headquarters roughly 20 miles north of Washington DC. The rationale at that time was that this relocation places this vital operation beyond the blast reach of a nuclear attack on Washington DC.
There are guarded entrances on Germantown Road and on Middlebrook Road.
